Who was Saint Flavian?

According to tradition, Flavian was a former prefect of Rome and the husband of Saint Dafrosa and father of Saints Bibiana and Demetria. Under Emperor Julian the Apostate, around 362, he was stripped of his rank, branded as a slave and sent into exile at Acquapendente in Tuscany, where he died praying. His wife and daughters also gave their lives for Christ. The Roman Martyrology remembers him on December 22.
