Who was Saint Victorinus of Pettau?

Victorinus was bishop of Poetovio, the Roman city that is now Ptuj in Slovenia. He wrote commentaries on many books of Scripture, and his commentary on the Book of Revelation is the oldest surviving Latin commentary on it. Saint Jerome counted him among the great Church writers and noted that he knew Greek better than Latin. He died as a martyr around 304, during the persecution of Diocletian.
