Who was Saint Elizabeth of the Trinity?

Élisabeth Catez was born in 1880 in a French military camp and grew up in Dijon. A lively girl with a strong temper and a gifted pianist, she learned to master herself through prayer and felt drawn to the Carmelite life. She entered the Carmel of Dijon in 1901, where she lived a deep life of prayer centered on the presence of God within her. She died of Addison's disease on November 9, 1906, at only 26, saying, "I am going to Light, to Love, to Life." Pope Francis canonized her in 2016.
