Who was Saint Andrew Dung-Lac and Companions?

Thousands of Christians were killed in Vietnam between the 17th and 19th centuries. On June 19, 1988, Pope John Paul II canonized 117 of them: 96 Vietnamese, 11 Spanish Dominicans and 10 French missionaries. Andrew Dung-Lac was a Vietnamese priest who was arrested several times and beheaded in Hanoi in 1839.
