18K Solid Yellow Gold Saint Benedict Round Medal 13 mm: The Classic 1880 Jubilee Design
Our 18K Solid Yellow Gold Saint Benedict Round Medal 13 mm (Medalla de San Benito) is made in Italy and stamped 750 to certify its 18K gold purity. At 0.51 inch (13 mm) in diameter and about 2.4 grams, it is an ideal size for everyday wear by women, men and teens. Crafted from hypoallergenic, lead- and nickel-free 18K solid yellow gold, it keeps its shine for years without flaking or fading.
The front shows a finely detailed image of Saint Benedict, patron saint of Europe, with a chalice and a raven that recall the story of his escape from a poisoned cup. Around the edge is the Latin inscription "Ejus in obitu nostro praesentia muniamur" ("At our death may we be fortified by his presence").
The reverse features the 1880 Jubilee design, approved to mark 1,400 years since Saint Benedict's birth. It shows a cross with the initials CSSML and NDSMD, the word PAX at the top, and the traditional Latin inscriptions VRSNSMV and SMQLIVB around the border.
Looking for another size? This medal is also available in 9 mm, 11 mm, 15 mm, 17 mm, 19 mm and 21 mm. Pair it with one of our 18K gold chains for a complete look. A meaningful gift for a baptism, First Communion, confirmation or birthday, it arrives in an elegant Amalia gift box and bag.
