If they passed away after sunset, the Hebrew date is the next day. Check "Passed away after sunset" and the calculator takes it into account.
Why does the date change every year?
The Hebrew calendar follows the moon and adds an extra month 7 times every 19 years. That is why the Hebrew date falls on a different civil date each year.
