Who was Saint Corentin?

Corentin lived in the 5th century in Cornouaille, in western Brittany, France, where he first lived as a hermit near Plomodiern. His holiness attracted many people, and he was chosen as the first bishop of Quimper, which became the center of the faith in that region. He is counted among the seven founding saints of Brittany, whose shrines pilgrims traditionally visited on the Tro Breiz. According to legend, a fish lived in his spring, and each day he ate half of it, only to find it whole again the next morning.

Feast day and traditions
